Design and launch two new open-access journals for the world's oldest and largest life-science organization

In-depth research with stakeholders and readers provided strategic imperatives that allowed us to align design directions with organizational objectives.

• Fully responsive, complementary designs for mSystems and mSphere journals will be used as a template for 15+ future ASM online journal redesigns and allow visitors to easily interact with high-value research content from a variety of devices.
• Pre-design in-depth interviews with internal stakeholders and target audience members helped identify the strategic and business goals for the redesign project.
• Surveys and analysis of Google Analytics data revealed the gaps between business goals and user behavior, and provided the insight that allowed us to define a path to a success.
